I can only imagine the resulting sight picture, having never employed the two together. So I'm wondering if it's an option others who have used both together would recommend?

I still need a rear BUIS on a flat top with the standard AR FSP and RDS that are there now. Is it advisable to consider a tritium rear and/or front post?

If not, why? If so, what do you use?

I have tritium posts on my front BUIS's. I dont see any point to lighting the rear on the AR's with the sight so close to the eye.

The front sight on mine arent an issue with the red dot, as they are folded 99.9% of the time, and just there for back up.

Thanks AK! I'm thinking the same: tritium front, not as neccessary for the rear.

My front sight is fixed though. Will tritium interfere with the red dot too much? Co-witnessed ideally, but either way?

All you need to see to hit in the dark as far as you can I.D. a target is the front sight.

A Tritium rear sight would help not at all for fast speed shooting necessary at those ranges.

We learned to shoot in the dark in the 1960's Army by tying a GI white handkerchief around the gas cylinder on an M-14 or M60.

Surprisingly, it works quite well at close range "in the wire" distance.
Until it catches on fire.

The tritium doesn't interfere with the red dot. You see it, but its not anything that is a problem. I have a couple of AK's that have both, and the AK's sights are always there with the red dot, and I dont have any troubles.
