Hello! I need some advice on my a Marlin/Glenfield 60. Any Marlin experts out there?
I recently picked up an used Marlin/Glenfield 60. This is one of the older models with the 18-round magazine and the squirrel stock. Overall, the gun is in great condition, but I’ve been having some problems with feeding. Specifically, I will have at least one failure to feed (if not two or three) per magazine. The rounds seem to be missing the chamber and then getting jammed in between the barrel and the bolt. (See photos.)
Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I’ve done a through cleaning of the gun and lightly polished the feed ramp. (It has the old style two piece field ramp.) As far as I can tell all of the internals, including the buffer seem to be in good shape. I have tried a couple of different types of ammunition; Federal “target” ammo with 40 grain lead bullets and CCI Mini-mags with copper-plated bullets. The problem occurs with both types of ammo.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can offer. (I did search through the forums to see if anyone was having a similar issue, but I didn't find the answer to my problem.)
