I hope this is ok to post...
I know it must be gun related but they did carry my holster, mag, knife, and flashlight.
If not, take it down and/or let me know and I will thanks.
Tru Spec 24/7 Series Mens Classic Pants Review
I received the 24/7 Series Mens Classic Pants in Khaki shortly before Thanksgiving 2010. I began wearing them on Thanksgiving Day. They felt very comfortable walking around, sitting down at the table, and I didn't notice any bulging or other changes while stuffed with turkey. I also played a little basketball while wearing them.
I work a four day on, three day off schedule so I started wearing them on my days off. They feel extremely comfortable and functional. If there were a pair of pants that felt both casual and tactical at the same time, it would be these pants. I have two other pairs of the regular 24/7 (Black and OD) pants and TruSpec knows how to make a pair of pants fit correctly. They blend in very well to a casual environment. As I stated earlier my pair were in khaki but they are also available in black and navy as well as a model for women. Here's a quick layout of the pants from a side view...
The 24/7 Series Mens Classic Pants are made from 65/35 Polyester/Cotton Ripstop. This combination holds up much better than 100% cotton in my opinion. It is under their professional grade DNA (Discreet Neutral Apparel) line and is also constructed with Teflon. The Teflon helps to repel water and did so when my nalgene bottle spilt some on a trip to Houston.
The pants have five wide belt loops that will fit up to a 2" belt. Here I carried my 1.5" Wilderness belt, service issue Glock 22, and off duty holster very well with no issues. The wide belt loops help to secure the belt to the pants more so than regular belt loops. The pants have two internal sliders that will allow a few inches of stretch without elastic or the old BDU tab method.
The pants have a Prym snap which works positively each and every time. Some lesser quality pants have snaps that don't stay shut. The pants have a very well made YKK zipper that also had no issues with snagging. Both the zipper and the snap never failed me once.
The front pockets are wide enough for my large hands and fairly deep as well to hold quite a bit. I carried my LEO ID on the right front pocket and my spare 17 round mag on the left front pocket. There are also two side seam pockets integrated into the front of each pocket. While a neat idea, it seemed to me to add bulk and take away a bit from the straight seam look.
They still look decent. I did not use these as the one time I did the item fell deep into the pocket and was almost impossible with my large hands to remove the item. Personally I have no use for them but others may like/need/want them. Add to that a knife/flashlight/utility pocket on each side and your real estate starts to get crowded.
I did use the two side utility pockets.
I carried my Smith and Wesson folding knife on the right side and my new Streamlight PT1AA flashlight on the left side. Both items were clipped into the pockets and had no access or comfort issues, even while sitting. I was able to draw each item and replace each one, usually without having to look, which comes with familiarity. The pocket on the right side with the knife also did not get in the way of my holster.
There are two extremely well designed, virtually hidden, side pockets where you would normally find cargo pockets. They have designed them to have a zipper closure running along the seam of the pants.
In my opinion TruSpec did an excellent job here as the seams run perfectly with the pant seam. Really, two thumbs up here, this is the best seam job I have ever seen. The only way to tell without opening the pocket is the very small hanging zipper on the outside of each pocket. Truly an accolade.
I was pleased to find TruSpec put on matching color zippers in khaki instead of just slapping black ones on. On the left side I would carry my fat wallet. Not from money but business cards, credit cards, range card, etc. These pockets are fairly easy to close one handed by anchoring your middle finger at the bottom of zipper. However with the large wallet sometimes it was a bit more difficult.
.
However, it did fit with room to spare.
It was also a bit harder to pocket something while walking as opposed to a more traditional BDU type cargo pocket but that is no fault of the 24/7 Classic as it was designed to be more low profile and therefore a minor issue. The one thing I had to be conscious of was that when putting my wallet back in the pocket in a public place I had to lean to my left side to get my hand low enough to access the zipper. I had to be careful not to print my handgun as the fabric on the right side of my shirt rode up my torso. I don't know if TruSpec has tried it, but, perhaps pulling down on the zippers to close them instead of up might mitigate this issue. On the right side pocket I carried my cell phone here with none of the issues experienced with the wallet except for leaning to one side. One last note, make sure you secure items put in the side pockets. My wallet fell out at one point and while I later traced my steps back, make sure you zip it up as soon as you place an item in there.
On the rear of the pants there are two bellowed rear pockets much like the original 24/7 series pants.
Since they are tapered, part of each flap is removed which cuts down on weight and bulk.
A nice touch. The pants have a small expandable portion with its own hook and loop closure so you could slip a small billfold or piece of folding paper in the back pockets or pull out the extension hook and loop velcro for larger items.
