Just started loading for 10mm and like all other new calibers I immerse myself in that round. seems like MOST factory loads are basically 40 cal +p for some reason. for range ammo plated bullets are great, but need to be kept under 1250 fps in most cases, and I don't load bunny loads while not pushing the limits too much. Gonna try some 180 and 200 grain xtps which I have always had luck with, but I'm thinking of ordering some nosler asp bullets which I've never loaded, along with some starline brass. has anyone tried these noslers? my go to powder are power pistol, be-86, and unique.

I’m not sure if I’m being fair to blame the bullet in my case but with Underwood’s 40S&W loads, the XTPs were very accurate and the Noslers were not at all accurate. Actually it was terrible. In 9mm, I had similar experiences. Again I’m not sure how fair I’m being here but I avoid the Nosler handgun bullets. Especially if I can get RMR or Hornadys on sale.
The left target is with Nosler bullets and the right is with XTPs. I believe the higher velocity of the 10mm will not help the cause for these bullets.

wow, xtps have always done me right. while the xtp might not be the best normally for PD due to over penetration, the incresesd velocity and energy of the 10mm should increase expansion earlier.

Seems like the Nosler bullets are a poor fit to your barrel.

My choices in powder for the 10mm are LongShot, AAC-#7, and Blue Dot.

I’ve been shooting the .40S&W since it first came out and started supplanting the 10mm on the market. I sold my 1006 Smith and just recently got another 10mm 1911…
My hand loads only lag most factory 10’s by 75-90fps.
I prefer the 155gr Hornady XTP as we don’t have many 500+lb bears. It will expand well at .40 velocities (1,200-1,300fps) but not blow up at 10mm velocities (1,350-1,450fps). Also very accurate in my experience.
I’ve never recovered a 155gr bullet from a deer or pig. Typically complete penetration. (Broad side heart/lung shots) …
(Winchester 155gr Silver Tips, Hornady XTP’s, Speer GoldDot, or Remington bulk JHP’s.

I did recently load some 135gr Noslers over a quantity of CFE-Pistol that was quite comforting.

I've run just about every brand and weight through my 10's through the years and always have come back to the 180gr Gold Dot at around 1350'ish FPS. It has shot well over AA-9 and put a lot of hogs down.

I have 6 and 7" barrels on mine so getting up in velocity isn't as big an issue as with a bit shorter barrel. I got them many for hunting purposes and have enjoyed them thoroughly.

My best advice is to find something that is accurate and reliable that doesn't batter the slide and frame up. Anything you load from 1150 up to 1300 is going to be a definitive solution to whatever you're having an issue with.

I prefer to load 10mm on the hot side. If I'm looking for cat sneeze recoil, I'll shoot 40S&W or better yet, 9mm. I've not tried Nosler HPs, but my 10mms shoot 180gr JHPs well at the high end of what BE-86 can deliver. There's no reason to think that those ASPs won't do well with the right powder and charge in your 10mm, KYregular. I also use Blue Dot, Longshot, AA#9 in my spicy 10mm loads; from your powder list and based upon my results, I'd try BE-86 first under those ASPs. The RMRs in 9mm work pretty well, so I'll be adding those to my 40 caliber wheelhouse soon. 15yd offhand from my 4" M610:
