I've been looking for a replacement for my venerable G23, and while there is nothing wrong with this pistol, I have never liked the GLOCK grip. I've been very impressed with the latest SA XDM series, although their 'compact' 3.8 model sports the same grip length as the 4.5 inch model.

The latest American Rifleman has a SA ad that seems to hint at a new, compact XDM but there's nothing on the X Factor web site. XD talk seems to be infected with malware,.

Anyone know the scoop?

There was a Springfield rep at the local gunshop/range yesterday (10/22) and I asked him about it. He said it wouldn't be shipped until late November (as I recall) and that it would be available in 9mm and .40 sw. No .45acp. He also didn't think it would be as small as a G26/27 but was a little vague on that point.

I have the XD SC .40 and see no reason why they couldn't make it into an "M" version.
When i bought mine i compared it to the Glock SC's and the M&P's and size was almost identical with the Glock, But price won me over for the XD.

But with the 4th gen Glocks starting to hit the shelves SA needs to get the SC "M"'s out so they can compete better.
