I found this link on another forum and thought I would post it here. I believe recreational shooting should be fun but not at the expense of basic safety. The only thing this girl does that is safe is run out of bullets. Everything about this video is scary to think that I might be in the same area as people who act like this... This girl is obviously a graduate from the Dick Cheney School of Shooting Techniques...

i will admit that she made at least one big mistake and that was swinging the gun back toward the guy video tapeing her. other than that it looked like she was enjoying her self and not doing to much damage. although there are other factors that the tape does not show, such as what is behind her target .

I agree. She should not have swung around like she did, although she did have the gun pointed down, still not right. The target...questionable (with target and beyond that is). I like the fact that she's out and actually shooting and enjoying it. Needs to be more girls like that I tell ya.:neener: But another thing, the guys watching didn't sound all that intelligent either, but that's my personal opinion.

Yeah, you can tell in the video that the SKS is out of ammo when he charges...the bolt is locked back after the last shot he fires.

SKS holds 10 rounds and yes you are right the bolt was locked open... I hope he didn't trip and stab himself though.
I'm glad the Marine Corps taught me how to do a proper bayonet charge and sometimes I just automatically assume that everyone should know such things...

Hangfire

I think he short-counted the hangfire wait time a bit.

Apparently eye protection is sun/eyeglasses.

Apparently ear protection is nothing.

Apparently backstop is the leafy woods (sure hope no hikers around, unless those are ballistic-resistant leaves and bushes).

Other than that, I think he was pretty safe! :barf:

What scared me the most about the second video was when the guy had the misfire, he immediately tipped the gun up with the receiver in line with his face and opend the bolt. Guess the guy never heard of a handfire, it would have ruined his day if he had one.

She's wearing a slippers/sandals. She might slip and fall down and shot herself/shot her friends with her SKS running around the muddy puddles :what:

Many safety glasses look like sun glasses. I have used safety/shooting glasses in my truck as sun glasses for years. They usually look decent and don't cost a lot.

I have done nutty stuff with guns before, but I neve ran with a loaded gun, or swung a loaded gun at anyone, or wore sandles while run and gunning, or reinacted a want-a-be war scene. I thought it was stupid and carless, but not as bad as what I have seen in real life.

I was just thinking that there a lot of worse things to do with gun than this. Not good though and definitely a teaching opportunity.

Well, if you guys think that is bad you would be appalled seeing me shoot. I usually wear my sunglasses for eye protection (ANSI rated Oakleys) and no visible hearing protection (Leightner ear plugs). I not only move with the rifle, I shoot with it while moving on occasion. I also have people cross in front of my rifle while my muzzle is pointed at that ground much like that video, though I do take my finger off the trigger and use the safety when that happens.

All in all, I wasn't real impressed by her stance and her safety could have been better with regard to muzzle control, trigger finger, etc. I definitely wouldn't use it as a reference on the proper way to do things; but I guess I don't view it as bad as some here do.
