I'd like to transfer non-class 3 firearms to a trust. I'm trying to use Nolo software, and it looks as easy as listing with serial number and model and description for personal property. I have no class 3 items.

Do I need a special trust, or will a simple trust be enough?

Any additional advise is appreciated!

I am not an attorney and would recommend that you contact one for specific legal advice. You could ask 20 different laymen and get 20 different answers. All of which would not be worth the paper they are written on. It may cost a little money now but it might save you far more later on.

Mine's gonna be worded something like, "Mama, put my guns in the ground. I can't shoot them anymore...."

I am an attorney, and I'm not about to try to deal with a matter of this sort of potential complexity on the Internet.

Among other thing --

  1. Exactly what you hope to accomplish matters.

  2. Where you live matters, because state law matters.

  3. Details matter.
What you discuss with a lawyer is private. What you discuss here is not.

Personal, real life legal matters should not be discussed with a bunch of strangers in public.
