I have always used Bullseye and Win 231 powders. Recently I ran across some Titegroup, so I bought a lb and am anxious to try it in my 9mm 1911. I have some Extreme 115 gr plated bullets I will be using it with.

Would like some recipe suggestions including powder charge and COL

Load them to 1.130 to 1.135 and follow the Hodgdon data on their website.

Must be a new shipment somewhere. I got a lb of it from Midsouth today to try. I've always been a little afraid of Titegroup, but going to try it out this week. Loading 95gr .380, 115gr 9mm and 155gr 40 with Hodgdon's data. Hope you enjoy it.

TietGroup is a great powder. It's another one that you can use in most everything.

I load (sometimes) for 9mm... when I do, I always use TG. Do loads with a 115 gn bullet. Clean at only 4.6 gnr powder. Very economical, meters very well and burns pretty clean even at low charges.

i didnt think i would like Titegroup
i heard it was just to touchy to play with
but i got a pound to mess with
works fine in 125gr 9mm loads
i load light so im not going to give charge weights
and there is ALOT of published data for it
really anywhere you might use Bullseye , Titegroup works well also
i now have a 4lb jug of it
for .38spl and 45 (i like a bit slower powder for 40 and 9mm)
it will never replace bullseye or red dot for me but it fills in nicely

I use Titegroup for 9MM also. It is very efficient, and I usually load to mid range as it is a very fast burning powder. I just use it for range work.

I've been trying to get my hands on some local, but it's never around. Been looking for months

I hope its better then Power Pistol in 9mm. I have to come to terms w/ and overall length today for my C-Z, M&P9c, Lone wolf conversion for 40glock in 9. It the 124g FP EXTRM. don't have a prob. w/ the other 2 bullet profiles. P.P. is scareing the neibors off! But I no its good for 9mil. .

I know it is the best in the book w/HORN. but kind of don't care for the firework show! Am hoping T.G. may pan out a lil. less flashy. Hoping? Been getting to used to W/231 I Guess?

Yep, it is flashy...but I do like the accuracy I get with it under a 124gr bullet

I've had great luck with Power Pistol in 380, 9mm, and 40. I load only reduced recoil, not going for max velocity. Burns clean, and is consistent. Some people complain of the muzzle flash, but it has never bothered me.

Back to the OP. I have loaded Extreme plated 9mm 115 RN with Titegroup, have tested it through the range from 3.7 to 4.5gn. I personally like a load of 3.9gn, seated to 1.135 COL. I got 1033 fps, 12.3 standard deviation, 40 fps spread with that load, out of a 4.5" barrel.

But, as always, start at the lowest load listed on the powder manufacturer's website and work up from there, as YMMV.

I've read in several places that Titegroup is supposed to be "peaky" or whatever, but it has worked well for me in 9mm, 40, 38spl, and 45acp. It is one of the powders that if I see it, I will buy more of it.

I have used TG for several years with great success. A can goes a long ways that is for certain. It meters very well and it is accurate. I think the recoil is very manageable.

I load my 115 Berrys with 4.3 grains

For my 124's which I shoot mostly I use 4.0 grains.

I vary the OL to fit the firearm and bullet profile I am using. I mainly shoot these out of a CZ SP 01 Phantom and I seat a HBFP at 1.065. Some RNFB bullets seat at 1.150.

While it doesn't take much and there is always a risk of double charges as there is with many different powders including W231 which I also use.

Good luck

I too use 4.3 Titegroup for 115 gr. Seated to 1.11. My XD9 Sub Compact loves it, but my new Shield 9mm hates it. I am in the process of working up loads for it using 4 different powders. I would start somewhere around 3.9 and work up by every .2 to see what the gun likes. Use lead recipes for plated bullets.

Come on Lauderdale, nothing wrong with a little flash:eek:

I loaded up some rounds with some of the Titegroup I had purchased and went to the range with those and some loads that I made using Bullseye. With Titegroup I had, well, tighter groups than I had with the Bullseye rounds.

4.5 gr at 1.125 OAL is what I use on the rare occasion that I have 115gr 9mms.

Hodgdon's must have just released a crap load of Titegroup. I was in my LGS today and they were unloading 5 cases of it. That's the most (first) I''ve seen in over a year.

It does work really well in 9mm.

I pushed back a tray (load work up.) of 124g. extrems. F.P. @ 1.060 oal for my C.Z. (4.0 4.2 4.4 4.5) and charged up 5 more F.P's @ 1.125 oal W/ 4g T.G. And 5 more W/4.2g."s racked the M&P9c and put 4@7yds. in the B.E. one just out side 4.2 grouped very well, both ejected great no shout on cases gun bore clean as a bell! Nice primer strikes/powder is stout but very very nice! Sun went down. I will bring it out further today and chrono. That will complete all bullet profile work ups w/the EXTRM. 124g. prob. on to the RMR's. P.S. Start low /work up.:)

I'd like to have 2-8 pounders of that.

About 3 months ago, I was at a LGS I frequent, that normally doesn't carry reloading supplies. As an afterthought, I decided to check all the shelves to see if they had any new stuff, and on the shelf were several 4lb jugs of Titegroup. I picked one up, as did my friend. Was glad to get it.

Maybe its just me but 4.3grs and 4.5 grs loads seem a little light for 115 grain bullets.

To get good accuracy in my G19 with Tightgroup I have to go with 4.8 grs. The less powder I use the more the groups open up.
If I used more powder they would probably tighten up even more but 4.8 is listed as max in my book so I will just never find out.

4.0 avg.1050fps 4.2-1080 4.4-1110 4.6-1120,1130ish. T.G. 124g F.P. extrm. CZ work up. 10yds group came together good for me@ 4.5 after setting dillion pwdr. meas.. chrono wasn't working the best in evening. Still have to tweek some measurements. I really like the powder meters very well! found 500rnds. of 115g.H.P's and have a thou. of 124g HP's. So,,,, W/4lbs of it I will have some more work to do! Still don't no if I will stick w/4.5 after tweeking will C?
