HS-6, AA#5 and Longshot will all work well. I like HS-6 best but if you already have any of the 3 no need to buy another powder just for the 40.

just my experience, titegroup burns cleaner than aa#7. i dont have any #5, so i dont know about that. with the powders i do have, i get better velocities out of the aa#7 though.

I see no one has mentioned VV320. I found it the least fouling and also the most consistent on my chrono. It's expensive but I've found it worth it.
