So ive been cruising the local Phoenix Arizona pawn shops and gun stores in the hopes of finding a fullsize Jericho in 9mm. Pretty much everyone I've asked doesn’t even know what it is, much less has one in stock. I'm going nuts trying to find this perfect (for me anyway) pistol. I couldn't even find one at the Crossroads Show in phoenix last week, which as I understand is the largest show to come to the state. I'm not even going to think about the hassle of trying to find a place just to rent one of the things.

Why do I want one so bad? I've held a Baby Eagle fullsize in my hand and it feels like an extension of my body. And seeing as the CZ-75 is the most satisfying shooter for me so far, I figure the Jericho has to be even better. But I've heard that the original Jericho pistol has ceased production, and that they've never imported the original into the US (just the Uzi Eagle and the Baby Eagle). So is it even possible to get one for a reasonable price anymore? Especially here in Arizona.

And on a second note, though I haven’t heard anything bad about it, what about the reliability and durability of the weapon? Is the trigger ok (comparable to the 75)? It's so hard find information concerning this pistol. What about the major differences (if any) between the Jericho and the Baby Eagle/Uzi Eagle?

Thanks in advance.

Jerichos are sort of "evolved" from the CZ-75s. Tanfoglio of Italy sort of copied the design of the CZs. They exported their products to Israel Military Industries (or IMI). IMI then installed their barrels and modified the slide design. The Baby Eagle and jerichos are the same pistols. There are two major designs, the frame mounted and the slide mounted safety.

I knew about the Jericho/CZ-75 corrilation, but I had also heard they're where differnces between the Jericho's and Baby Eagles, namely that they set up the safetys differently.

Don't give up, they exist. After months of searching for the same reasons as you I found one, full size, frame safety. You just have to keep checking the auctions. From my conversation with Magnum Research on this, they seem totally clueless as to what the American market wants. They said that consumers here prefer the slide mounted decocker to the frame safety, so they rarely import the latter.

I guess somehow they have missed out on the tremendous sales of 1911s, CZ-75s, Browning Hi Powers......

Not sure where they are selling guns, but I have never seen there to be much interest in the Baby Eagle with slide safety. The same person who made that decision is also probably the person who came up with the name Baby Eagle.

I saw several at the last gun show here in Las Vegas. Both full size and compact. I considered it, but decided to pass. Gotta save for a new truck gun for my new truck. I'm thinking about a a nice FAL.

There is a gunshow this weekend here in Vegas. Spend a day...and your hard earned money. You'll have fun!

Just saw a Jericho full sized with a frame safety. It felt perfect, but the price tag was too high. $575 for a cz clone?

Good info here http://www.isayeret.com/weapons/handguns/jericho/jericho.htm

Make sure to do a search here and at the www.thefiringline.com There are lots of threads on Jerichos.

I haven't read of major complaints. Most people that have them like them. I like the grip better than on the CZ75s and I also think that the Jerichos have a better finish than CZs. IMHO they're equally accurate and reliable.

They were going for bargain prices a few years ago. I NIB full size models with night sights and two prebans for $300. Still kick myself for not getting one.

At the risk of offending the CZ fans, I do prefer the Jericho. Not that I don't like a 75, just that the Jericho fits my hand even better than the already comfortable CZ. I also like polygonal rifling, and the full length dust cover on the Jericho. That really takes the already timid 9mm down to down-right placid.

:D

Now mind you that if CZ does come out with the SP-01, I will be all over it!

I had a jericho 941 before with the frame mounted safety. I find it easy to shoot and digests almost any type of ammo I used. I even mixed different types in one magazine (we called it do-re-mi loads;) ) The only thing I don't like is that my seemingly big hands are having difficulty racking the slide. I ended up with sore left thumb after a range session. I also find the "beavertail" rather awkward since it tends to snag on my waist (I'm a fan of IWB holsters) including the rather large hammer.

Just my .o2
