I've recently acquired a Jericho in 9mm and im looking for any experience on what this pistol generally likes and doesn’t like to eat for both personal defense and range use. Also, I’m on a pretty limited budget so please no wonder bullets like Carbon, etc. Right now im looking into Winchester 147 Personal Protection Hollowpoints (ie: the cheap ones). Anyone with experience with this load in the Jericho/Baby Eagle pistol?

Welcome from the Arizona faction of TFL!!

I would think that any hollowpoint that "looks like" ball would feed and function.
I have never quite trusted the 147gr 9mm loading. I prefer the standard 115 gr Winchester "white box" JHP, available at your local Wallyworld!!
In fact, I use it for my 9mm, .45, and .40Smith pistols!! I have never had a problem with it in any caliber.
The 115gr hardball makes great inexpensive practice ammo!!
Why get fancy!! :D

My Jericho (941) and Baby Eagle have no problems with the basic Winchester 115 JHP , 147 JHP, or the Remington Bulk back (100 rounds) of 115 JHP. Available at Wal-mart. Will be shooting all 3 of these with them tomorrow in fact.

If you plan to use this pistol for defense, I'd advise that you practice with an ammo that is about the same weight as the defensive ammo you plan to use. You should also make sure the gun is reliable with your chosen loading. I usually go through 150 rounds in a gun before giving the OK for carry. If you aren't looking to carry it, just shoot a box of your defense ammo when you can to test for reliability.

The 124 grain +p Gold Dots would be my load of choice for that gun. They have better velocity than their 147grn counterparts and give you more energy at the muzzle. I know thats not all there is to it, but when you are looking at an expanding bullet, that bit of extra velocity helps.
Oh, the Jericho can take the +p loads without trouble. I wouldn't shoot em all the time, but it shouldn't hurt it too much. The CZ clones are tough.

Oh, if you want cheap practice ammo, Cheaperthandirt.com has Wolf for a decent price. Check local gun shops for surplus stuff as well. Beware though. Some surplus is corrosive and some of it can be really hot. SMG ammo is not good for pistol actions.

My wife and I had a Jericho in 9mm and a Baby Eagle in .45ACP. The Jericho would digest anything we fed it. This was the most compact model IMI made, and we had difficulty shooting accurately. We still have the Baby Eagle, which also digests anything we feed it, and it is much more accurate. We still have it, and it's my personal protection firearm.

Pretty good-feeding guns... I'd assume most major name brand ammo would work fine but if any of them were to have problems, I'd think it'd likely be a 147 load.

The Georgia Arms Gold Dots are pretty cheap, esp when bought in bulk. The 124 Gr +P load is about the most respected and widely used load and if you buy in bulk, you can practice with your actual carry round for about the same price as cheaper ammo from local stores.

Thanks for the info on the Georgia Arms Gold Dots, didn't even know they exsited. I'll try and pick up a box or two. Also, does anyone know if Wolff makes any springs that fit the Jericho pistols? I assume the Witness springs would fit as the Jericho is basicly a built up Witness.
