trying to put light on a 500

Does anyone know if the Streamlight rail mount for the Rem 870 will work on a Mossberg 500 with the screw on magazine cap? It looks like it might but wanted to see if anyone knew for sure before I order one. Thanks

I have the Model 54125 Breacher and there is no room on the magazine tube for a clamp unless I can find one that is only 0.5" wide.

Synthetic forend?

You could inlet and glue & screw a small section of PT rail or Weaver scope base into the side or bottom of it.

I made a Surefire bayo-lug mount for my AR out of a Weaver scope base & one Weaver scope ring.

I think I got it

Thanks RC. I had a short piece of Weaver rail and mounted it to the side and I think it is going to work great. In addition to the light I have put a youth stock on it, now just need a sling and will be ready. Am doing a combat shotgun course this weekend so it will get a workout. I'll try to post pics when I get it done.

Might want to inlet, or sink it into the stock just a tad and use epoxy bedding to act as a recoil lug.

Doubtful just screws will stand the pounding it will get with a light mounted.

I would love to know if that rail would fit this weapon. I have the same weapon and the same probelm.
