Any recommendations for a tuckable IWB holster for a Kahr P9 and is there a preference between Thunderwear and Smart Carry? I did a Search, but it's often good to get the latest thoughts. Thank you.

Smartcarry has a sweatproof/waterproof backing on it so your sweat is less likely to make it through to the gun. I believe it has also had extra attention paid to the design of the stitching and seams to make sure it's non-snaggable. It's a good product, you can also order it through Ebay under the name "Invisible Holster" for slightly cheaper. The shipping is more but when I bought mine it was cheaper overall for the same product made by the same company.

I've recently researched this on various forums.

And I wound up buying the SmartCarry.

The people who make SmartCarry (I had a very nice conversation with Carolyn) were Thunderwear sellers, but they grew concerned about their perception that things could snag on the stitching of the Thunderwear. Eventually, they broke off and marketed (and patented!) their own product. SmartCarry also uses elastic on the bands (and I understand that TW does not).

But I don't own TW, so I can't really compare the two. I'm on Day 2 of SmartCarry ownership, and I'm pretty darned impressed.

(BTW - these aren't really tuckable IWB holsters - I think they are a completely different and better concept. But you knew that.)

I had a High Noon Hidden Ally and a High Noon Hidden Impact for my Kahr P9 Covert. Carried it in one or the other for the better part of a year and had zero complaints. The Impact is more of a fitted holster but only comes in a brown/tannish color while the Ally isn't so closely fitted though offers plenty of retention for me. It comes in black so I usually wore the Ally when it would be visible and the Impact when just wearing it with an untucked shirt.

I give the highest praise to High Noon. For the prices, their holsters are very nice, esp the tuckables.

I carry my Kahr P9 in a Wild Bill's Tuckable Covert Carry IWB. Very well made, gun specific holster. I use it on a Wild Bill's gun belt. Great combination..highly recommended.
