I ordered 10k Tula pistol primers while Powder Valley had 'em on sale. 5k large and 5k small. I sat my Hornady L-N-L AP up to run some .45 ACP's. I started out with about 100 CCI primers I already had in a tube and then switched to the Tula primers. Shortly thereafter, I started having problems. In a nutshell, the presses primer seater would not seat the primers deep enough with consistency. If the primer wasn't deep enough, and the shell plate tried to index, it would lock up. I'd have to take things apart to straighten it out. I thought the problem was with the press and it's priming system. After about 20 jam ups, I wised and and thought it may be the primers. I swapped back to CCI primers and things ran smooth as always...Just passing along the info. Of course your results may vary.

I did try the Tulas with a Lee hand primer and they seated to the proper depth.

On a positive note, I shot a mag full of of the Tula primed ammo and it all shot time.

I have that same problem with Remington 1.5's in any brass except RP and REM-UMC.

They work fine on the Forster CO-AX press.

I ran into about the same thing yesterday with Federal SP primers in my RCBS hand priming tool.

I bought three boxes of Federal SP in an attempt to cure a DA misfire problem with an old Colt.

But several times per hundred one flipped sideways in the tool and before you know it, it's tear things apart to get the case out of the shell holder again with the sideways seated primer stuck in it.

Like you, CCI has ran 100% in it for 30+ years. As do Winchester, and Remington.

Besides Federals goofy big boxes causing spilled primers all over the floor, and then not feeding right, I sure won't be buying any more.
Even if they do work better in the Colt.

It is my expierence with the tula primers are a little harder to seat. My lee turret press loaded them just fine, but i have yet to try them on my newly received lnl ap. After around 1500 rounds with cci primers i have zero primer feed/seat failures after initial adjustment. I mainly use the tulas for wheel guns and i will find out soon how the tulas work as i am almost done with case prep on some 38 special.

I gave up on my Hornady Pro-7 (the predecessor of the LnL) because of priming issues.

I completely replaced the primer subsystem and a few years later same issues were back so I got a Dillon XL650 and having had a priming problem yet beyond the crimped primer brass that occasionally slips through -- the Dillon is much easer to recover from this issue.

wally-

I've noticed a trend over the years. The only ones who think Dillon's are too expensive are those that bought something else first.

Eh, the L-N-L has feed other brands just fine for thousands of rounds. Just reporting I had trouble with Tula's in large pistol. I don't think I need to swap presses to correct the problem. I just won't buy anymore of those primers....Of course, Dillon presses are great and work flawlessly, just ask a guy that has one.
