Extractor tuned and thats working well. Took it to the range today. Put maybe 100 rounds through it. It is a DW 1911 Commander.

Had a couple of these:
New problem arose today that was not there last week at the range. I am using fairly new Metalform mags with the rounded follower. 45-797W Part number.

The last round is moving forward in the mag a little (1/4" maybe) which is causing the slide to lock back without finishing off the last round. I read some articles on it and believe its the magazines. I am thinking of trying magazines that are more similarly built to military specs. Otherwise its running pretty good.

Agree its the mags or offer suggestions?

I found the culprit mag

and it is gone. Odd one I had and did not notice it until today. It does not have a catch like the MatalForms do.

Still have the problem with the first round diving straight in on first load and not driving up the load ramp when manually loading. Once loaded though it will shoot well. I am not certain if that is the mags or the ammo. It loads hardball no problem. I will try some defensive rounds like Corbon or Federal EFMJ and see what they do.

I have tried Gold Sabres, and Federal TAP, both hang when sending the first round in manually, but seem to feed the first round of 7 no problem when firing.

Odd.
