i got my oct guns and ammo and they hav an artical on colts WWI 1911. i was wondering how you or anyone else felt about this gun. i like the straight msh. but i was curious about its parts if they are mim or what. the artical didn't say so i'm guessing that they are. does anyone know about how much this will cost?

It's a great-looking gun. The bluing is unreal.

Colt is not Kimber or Springfield; Colt uses very few MIM parts. Last I checked, only the sear, disconnector, and mag catch are MIM even in Colt's $550 base model. (And, for that matter, a very, very reputable gunsmith told me not to change out the disconnector, as it's perfectly good.)

They seem to go for about $900 give or take a bit.

WW1 Colt Repro

Schmackey nailed it. I haven't even seen one...nor a WW2 repro yet.
I hear they're nice pistols, but not sure I'd give the asking price that they
command...even if they are limited production. The best thing that they've got goin' for'em is that they're Colts without the Series 80 stuff. If I could
find one for say...750 bucks...I might hafta whip out the plastic.

dsk has one, unless he's sold it recently. He could give ya a better report than I can.

thanks shmackey, tuner. i like it but not the 900 part. i was thinking to get it for my dad for christmas... back to the drawing board.
