Hey can anyone tell me if a 16 gauge would be sufficient for turkey hunting?

You can do anything if its close enouth. My wife uses a 20 ga with a modified choke. The range goes up to 12 yards for tight groups. #6 good for this close work.

Need more range, get more gun.

years ago I had to use my ol' fox SxS 16 ga. for Turkey season because my oldest son had drawn the same season and was using my pump 12 ga. turkey gun. Took the largest bird of my life (27 lbs) at 35 yards with one shot from the left barrel using 2 3/4" magnum shells filled with #5s.

I prefer a 12 gauge, but I have seen a big bird killed with 16. Get him close and you shouldn't have any problems.
