I've always wanted a Colt Gold Cup, being that Monday I turn 45, I made the decision and put one in lay-away. A new stainless Gold Cup Trophy. (My first 1911).
The wife was totally into it. (45-45!)
Quick question. I'm not sure I'm crazy about the sights (that may change) but what sights does anyone recommend?
Thanks !!!!!!!

Congrats on your birthday and you selection in handguns. It should serve you well for many years

I'm happy with the factory installed adjustables on both my gold cups.

I think you should spend some time and ammo getting used to your new handgun before making any changes.

Congrats. I bought a Stainless GCT last year this time. You'll love it. You'll enjoy the 1911.
On my Series 80 GC I had Millet sights with the front red ramp, rear white outline. I really liked them. Will have them installed on the Trophy when I get time.
The GC is perfect out of the box. The only major issue is that is has to constantly be reloaded:D You will shoot it a lot.
I buy Winchester Ammo at Walmart...The Value Pack 100rd at $29.00.

Thanks Guys, I looked at several 1911's, all great guns. Doing some homework and extensive looking at the past few gun shows, it was down to the Springer loaded and the Colt. I always wanted a Colt and said I'll take it! I'll pick it up in 2 weeks. Yeah!
