So I don't own a TV, (for intelligent reasons).. So I'm at a restaurant eating dinner, when one of the dumbest commercials comes on TV..

Here in Taiwan, gunownership is illegal.

So let me describe the commercial.. :barf:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A young woman, speaking to the audience, with some police arrests in the background..
She says "Crime is on the rise, you need to do your part not to become a victim." She then points to a picture of the stereotypical robber.
"What is the biggest fear of thieves and robbers? It's time, it's having to take time to unlock a door, to break in. A time window when they might get caught.. So do your part, and lock up.."
And they show this young woman at home, and she sees someone sneaking around, and she runs inside the house and turning oh.. I lost count, 8-9 different locks, double doors at that, a metal screen door on the outside..
So it didn't say call the cops, it didn't say defend yourself, it said, buy 8-9 different locks..
If you hear someone picking your locks, or you see a creepy person stalking your house, you are suppose to feel safe with 9 locks... ? :barf: :cuss: :banghead: :fire:
If gun ownership wasn't illegal there, time just might not be the biggest fear of thieves and robbers.
The image of the woman running around locking all the locks reminds me of something I saw a long time ago, maybe on a sitcom or something: A woman, living in a NYC apartment, has four locks on her front door. She always keeps two locked and two unlocked, figuring that someone picking them to break in will always be locking two while they're unlocking the other two. :rolleyes:
Now now, if you can't own guns more locks is a great idea! Just stick 'em in the bottom of a sturdy sock...
When I lived in the People's Republic of California and had to drive anywhere at night, I kept a sock with $10 worth of quarters on the console between the front seats of my car. Now that I've returned to the United States, I've spent the quarters on .357 magnum ammunition.
