I tested two loads over the Chronograph from my little p32 today. Both 73g loads one the made in Missouri Fiocchi blue box and the other the Hungarian made RWS sport in the orange.

The results were quite surprising so I'll just cut to the numbers

FIOCCHI 73grain
918-922-930-919-915

This was so suprising I shot another string

891-891-893-926-917

Average betwixt the two strings was 912fps @ 6' from the muzzle and calculates out to 137ft lbs. These shot very well right to the sights. Brass ejection was spirited to say the least.

Up next the fairly new RWS

830-824-891-893-867

Avg 861 fps

These shot lower and left slightly. The recoil was noticeably different from that of the fiocchi brass was still very energetic.

This puts the lot of fiocchi I tested right up there with BB 75g cast for power and most likely penatration.

How about some expanding ammo?

Dale,

I found your results interesting as I use the .32ACP caliber. Can you test some of the hollowpoint ammo, like the HYDRO SHOKS, FIOCCHI jhp and COR BON Powerball rounds?

Jim

Brass ejection was spirited to say the least.
I feel your pain. My .32s not only eject the brass energetically, they send it in different directions from each other. I lose more .32 ACP brass than anything else.

My plinker load for .32s with a 71 Gr RN is about 775 to 800 FPS, so about 100 FPS+ slower than that factory ammo. OTOH, my 60 Gr XTP full power load runs 1000 FPS and sends the brass into three time zones.

No joke on one occasion when I fired from in front of the awning by a few feet many of my cases were landing on THE ROOF!

The ones from under the awning were striking the roof hard enough that they were scattering totally at random.

Luckily I can get the rws for just over $12 a box wich kinda takes the pressure off needing to handload.

I was not aware that Fiocchi was made in Missouri. Nevertheless outstanding power from a mousegun, especially with American made ammo which tends to be anemic.

Those results mesh very closely with what I've seen from the Fiocchi ammo.
Do be cautious of firing those from a Beretta TomCat. I cracked the frame and slide on a carbon-steel (blue) one I had back in the late '90's.
Beretta replaced it... I traded the new one unfired.

With the Kel-Tec K32, expect 75-100fps lower velocities due to shorter barrel. However, due to differences in operation, expect much better durability.

My loads very closely mirrow those of "Walkalong". I use 1.8gr of Bullseye under a 78gr cast bullet (Lyman) for around 775fps. This is very accurate. My 60gr HP load is 2.5gr of Bullseye under the 60gr Hornady XTP for around 970fps from the KelTec, and it got ~1,050fps from the Beretta, just like the Fiocchi. These were not "hot" except for the very energetic ejection. I did go higher, but settled on this as less wearing on the guns.

I also found HP38 (Win231) to be very good too, but accuracy was slightly better with Bullseye.
Federal primers and Fiocchi brass were used.
I found that many of the Remington cases had insufficient extractor groove to allow proper extraction by the KelTes's, and were "problematic" on the shell plate of my loading machine. Winchester and Federal were "better", but not as good as the Fiocchi, RWS, or PPU.
I prefer Federal primers for all my handguns.

Yes, .32acp brass has a way of "disappearing" after firing. But, I really like the little cartridge....It finally is getting the respect it deserves...
