I can't put it off any longer. I am on the verge of ordering one of those FNHP's with the cocobolo grips from CDNN. I'm trying to wait until my parycheck after next to order it but, I'm going nuts. I caught myself doing what I did over the past two years when I wanted a Hi-Power. I would look for an excuse not to buy it in favor of some other gun that I wasn't happy with and would eventually sell off. Now is the time. I've been working extra shifts to pick up some extra money as to not go any farther the the credit card hole. I set a goal that the paycheck after next would be the day. To keep me on the straight and narrow, I put a photo of one of the CDNN FNHP's with the cocobolo grips on my desk top. My love with the HP started almost 14 years ago when it was the first handgun other than a .22 that I've ever fire. It was kinda like losing my virginity and, you know what they say, don't you? You always fall in love with your first. Well, it's time for a long awaited booty call:neener: . I hope I make it though. I've bought alot of guns on a wild hair and have gotten into a little bit of a hole money wise. Nothing too bad though. Just something not characteristic of me though.

I hear you Flip. Waiting is the hardest part.

For me the hardest torture has been custom guns. First they cost a lot, and waiting to get the money together is really hard. Especially hard when everything you have ever wanted shows up at a good price when you are SOOO close to having the money together to buy the custom. Then you send off the money for the custom and are given a timeframe for delivery, the wait is excruciating. Then the date nears and you place a call, wellllllllll........ it isn't ready and won't be for a few weeks. This will probably happen at least a couple times, and each time it gets worse. Then FINALLY it is done and ships. Your FFL is on vacation/dentist/whatever and you wait a couple more days. You finally lay your hands on it and expectations are so high a twelve pound bag of diamonds would not do. Then you sign the papers, go shoot it and realize the masters of the gun building art really can build a better moustrap. It meets every expectation in function and you completely forget a detail that was so troubling on first inspection. Happiness again.

Custom guns are really painful, but worth it. Your HP will be worth it if you hold out and get it.

I just got done reading another thread that CDNN in down to less than two dozen FNHP's left:banghead: . I don't think I'm going to make it:cuss: . I bet they run out before I get the funds together.

Hi there Flip,

I currently own 4 Hi Powers and they are worth the money.

I hope that it works out for you and you get your FN/HP.

If not, there will be one down the road for you in the future.

Chris

I read alot about CDNN on various forums and they do have some deals, but my last FN HP purchase was from Reed1911 out of OK. He is a contributor on THR and has listed his offerings here. I found him through gunbroker.com and bought one of the FN SFS HP in 40S&W. The exact same gun with one less mag was in CDNN's offerings for $100 more.

Now I may buy a 9mm FN HP from CDNN because they still have polished blue models and Reed1911 does not, but check him out before you commit to CDNN. poppy

Well, I guess today was the day. I called CDNN for ????s and grins and they were down to 17 and going fast. I went ahead and ordered one with an extra 13 round mag and the cocobolo grips. The total with sales tax and shipping was 506.56. I will still work another twelve hours at work to cover the cost of the gun. I already have twelve out of the projected twenty four hours needed behind me. The transaction was painless. I called my FFL and he faxed them a copy of his FFL and I gave them my credit card info over the phone. I did this all from work. I bet it ships out either today of tomarrow and will be here early next week. CDNN is only about four to five hours from here and, I wouln't be surprised if it is here by Monday. I have a few more guns on my list and working a couple of extra shifts isn't a bad deal if it means not blitzing my credit card whenever I buy other guns. I'm really looking forward to getting one of these finally. It has been a long time comming. It won't replace my G19 for CCW but, it will be a pleasure to take to the range along with my Kimber Custom II and my 2005 S&W 520.

I live in Killeen and the 4506 I ordered from CDNN was delivered to the FFL the next day by UPS.

I just got a SFS FN/HP at a local gun showfor about $450 out the door. :D I haven't shot it yet because it is a gift from my wife for my birthday, which is Saturday, but I can hardly hold myself back. Congratulations on your new purchase.
