Two new silencer videos...

Just thought some of you might be interested, took video of my new .45 Evolution silencer (AAC manufacture) on my H&K USP Tactical. Also took video of my 30-06 T/C Encore without and then with my 762-SD silencer (also from AAC).

Both demonstrate very much why I dearly love silencers. The gent shooting the .45 hadn't shot a handgun that recoiled that hard before, just shoulder arms. Just about no flinch thanks to less noise!

As for the 30-06, I doubt I need to say much. Without the silencer, it's painful and then some even through ear plugs. With the silencer, it's hearing safe - period.


.45 Evolution video - firing WWB .45ACP 230gr ball.

762-SD video - firing 165gr BTSP bullets at 2900FPS or so.

What's the legality of silencers? Always thought they were illegal?

IIRC they (silencers) are in the class III category.
Obtainable, but pricey.

Cheap and easy to obtain - as long as you can buy a gun you can buy a silencer if they're legal in your state. A basic .22lr silencer is $200 plus the $200 NFA tax stamp. Regardless of the price of almost all NFA items, the tax (one time to take possession) is $200 each item.

Oh how I love properly silenced pistols. Nothing more than a loud click every time the gun fires, that wouldn't draw the attention of anyone. That 30-06 still sounded like an unsilenced .22LR going off.

The federal government does not ban (correct me if I’m wrong) any small arm. It does place some obscene restrictions (ex. no machine guns for civilians made after May 1986) on some of them though. Take a look at the Wikipedia article on the National Firearms Act and some of the links in it.

The gov has placed a restriction on machine guns that effectively prevents me from owning one. I consider that a ban.
