Two new to IDPA.

I've seen it done a few times where guns were shared... depending on the range and where the safe areas are it can be easy or a PITA. Most SOs will be accomodating and if you shoot back to back in the order it shouldn't be a problem as long as the transfer is safe and doesn't cause undo delay in the match.

I'm thinking our best bet is for him to come watch a match. We can ask them the best way to go about it, since it's their show. Maybe someone will donate a gun for a few matches.

The biggest problem I see with sharing a gun, is loading mags. If you shoot back to back you will have to take time to reload unless you have a bunch of mags. Most guys carry 4-5 when shooting IDPA. You can't get by with 3 almost all of the time and 2 much of the time. 6 between the two of you could work.

I know, they can be really expensive. I would try to get placed so that you are not back to back then. I'll bet your gun only came with two mags. I would recommend a third for IDPA.
Oh and buy a Glock, the mags are only$27!!!
