Prayers for the Families.

From what I've been told, domestic disturbance calls are very dangerous because you never know what is going to happen.

I'm not sure if this should be in the Legal Forum.

Two Odessa Police Officers Killed in Standoff

Two Texas police officers responding to a domestic disturbance call were killed after an hour-long standoff in Odessa. The officers were trying to get into the house when a gunman opened fire, killing them and wounding another Saturday evening.

Odessa police arrived on the scene at 2912 Ventura in Odessa, after a woman called in stating that her husband had hit her. When officers approached the rear of the home, a man opened fire from inside with a shotgun. He continued firing while coming out of the house hitting several officers.

The suspect went back inside and remained there until he surrendered. Corporal Arlie Jones and Corporal John Scott Gardner with the Odessa Police Department were shot and killed.

Aerocare flew Corporal Abel Marquez to University Medical Center in Lubbock. He remains there in critical condition.

The suspected gunman is 58-year-old Larry White who was in stable condition after being shot in the abdomen. White will likely be charged with two counts of capital murder and three counts of attempted murder of an officer.
