So, I recently (1/1/13) ordered a CMMG Revo left-handed upper for a completed poly lower that I purchased separately. I've heard that CMMG has a rep for not being the most communicative and not having prompt shipping times though I believe that they make quality stuff. Further, these are the times of long delays and turnaround.
No problem, but I'm looking to get an estimate of how long it's likely to take. CMMG hasn't responded to my emails and I haven't taken the time to call them. Does anyone know their recent turnaround time for such an order?
Separately, what magazine type does the Revo .22LR upper use? And what's a likely place to find them? Or at least to place an order and get on a list?
Thx,
B

A few years back I did a special order for a complete upper with CMMG. It was a high-demand time, but not as bad as it is now.

I guess the total time was around ten months. Emails were sorta slow, but I got the impression that they were doing as best they could.

But it shoots just under one MOA, which is plenty good for casual varminting. Not really a prairie dog gun, but darned good for coyotes.

I recommend get the ones with steel lips. You will shoot it a LOT.

PSA had the version with the steel lips in stock up until about one minute before I made my post. Oh well. :)

That said, I own both the polymer and the steel-lipped versions. Both versions have been extrememly reilable in my .22LR CMMG, and both have been shot A LOT. The springs in these magazines are not terribly strong (they are just pushing single-stacked .22LR cartridges) and the feed lips are quite thick, so I doubt feed lip spreading will ever be much of an issue.

I would not hesitate to recommend the polymer version if that's all you can find. If the polymer lips ever do give you trouble, they can be replaced with the steel lips.

Wow, ten months. Not a problem really in that I'm not in any rush. So I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
And re the magazines, I'll start accumulating both or either.
