I had an early, non-enhanced Colt Combat Elite that I tricked out and shot lots of matches with back in the '90s.
I finally traded it for a brand new (original type) Kimber Ultra CDP when they first came out around 2000, to use as a CCW pistol.
I loved both . . . and now wish I'd kept the CE and just bought the little Kimber outright. I love the two-toned 1911s and the Combat Elite was one gorgeous and sweet shooting gun!
My well-carried Kimber is pictured below along with another little concealed carry sweetheart, a '64 Model 36 no dash.
