That is awfull that is terrable, they are not in MY gun cabinet, AAAAAAAAH. I am going to be sick. Nice score Bushmaster, if you ever get tired of them, I know a nice home they could go to. (MINE).

Nice going.
Jim

I think i would swap the scopes. Would rather have the big one on the bolt and keep the lever light and handy!

Trying to score a Leupold Mountaineer for the Model 70

Will try other scopes on the 88 after I see how it shoots with the 10X fixed that it came with from the online auction

I know from a previous 88 in .270 (no longer mine) that a Leupold 2x7 Vari-X ii looks good on a pre-64 88:

That is a nice pair of rifles. Every time I see a Model 70 like yours I wonder why in the heck I sold mine.

I've got a Swift 6X on my 88 in .308. I'd put the 10x on the bolt and call it good. Whitefeather had a 10x on his 70 in 30.06 I believe.

That steel later USA built Weaver 2.5 (or 3x) is a really great and rugged scope, trust me it is very desirable on a woods rifle. The 10x adj objective Leupold is a really great scope on a Varmint or long range gun. Why spend the money

That's a fine looking rifle, but I'm pretty sure the 88 wasn't ever offered in 270 or any other long action round. 243, 284, 308 and 358 only IIRC.

The memory is the first to go and I forget what the second thing is. :)

The one with the potato fork was .308 and it was an early four digit serial number that I traded for a solid frame 1897 Riot from 1937.

I think they were only short action and the .308 beat me silly with the recoil.
