Got me a tx22 competition slide for my tx22. Question on mounting a mrd. Got vortex venom and a Burris ffiii. The manual for slide says use loctite 262 and torque to 5.3 inch lbs. Seems light to me and not sure about using the red. I most generally use blue. Any thoughts. Haven't thought about which optic as both are 3 moa dots. Might order another one with larger dot.

I'm assuming the mount uses #6-40 screws, and that torque rating goes along with this generic torque chart. There is also a running argument about whether or not using loctite requires you to use a wet torque or dry torque spec and if you go with the wet torque that is usually about 20 percent lighter than the dry torque.

Defiantly use loctite. Unless you want your scope rally close to your eye. There is a lot of gforce and vibration in a moving slide. Saw a guy put his into his safety glasses last weekend. I had my ff3 come off and it was on with blue loctite. If you need to remove it you can always add a little heat to the screws before removing.
