I just got my C&R ffl and was busy going to places like Midway and Brownells and setting up my dealer accounts. I just set one up at Grafs and sons and was looking at primers and powder etc. For a lot of 5000 primers they need a type 6 or 7 ffl. I looked into it and a type 6 is only 30 dollars. Does anyone know anymore than that? Is it a good idea or bad, whats the pros and cons.
I don't want to manufacture ammo, just want to get the prices.

The 06 FFL requires quarterly excise tax payments to ATF for all ammunition manufactured using components owned by you and sold. 11 percent excise tax. If you reload some ones brass you don't pay the tax even tho you provide the other components. Its a little bit confusing at first, but can be rewarding. Do a lot of research. I live in Montana now, PM me.

mmcsret, I am interested in this but can’t seem to figure out how to pm you. Would you pm me. I already have a corporation created for about 5 years and am set up to collect and pay sales taxes, though not in the firearm or ammunition business.
Thanks
Mark

Mark, got to the ATF.GOV site and get all the info and contact #'s. Lots of info and it appears that it might be changing even more in the future. I don't know where you are so making it interface with your state statutes and regulations may be a trial in its own right.
