Typical Saturday at "The Range"

Our range is on the back side of our property. If I'm alone, maybe working up a new load, I take only one firearm. If there are several participants, I take multiple firearms, normally up to five. If I have to clean more than five guns, it becomes a chore.
I am blessed to have my own range.

My range is also out back where I shootout to 700 yards.

It's about 100 yards to my bench, and 300 out to my pistol range.

I normally shoot a couple times a week and I take a couple guns out depending on what I'm working on or practicing. Don't normally do marathon sessions anymore because there really isn't a need as I can pop down to the range and run a couple drills, then get back to chores. Once in a while I'll invite folks over and do a show and tell session, but the cleaning afterwards sucks.

Yugo,
I just finished packing for tomorrow's range evening. Unfortunately, no big land areas to shoot here, (South Fla) and definitely no natural barriers on sides of hills here either.
I generally go to an indoor range and meet up with some friends. Tomorrow night a coworker is joining me and he's a novice. So my packing includes 2 22's for him to try, and my Glock 17. Another buddy wants to try some 380s, so in go 4 different 380s. So, just for an indoor range visit - 7 pistols plus 2 suppressors.

I was considering grabbing a 22 AR, or the Beretta Storm 9MM carbine, but didn't feel like carrying the rifle bag.

When I make it to the outdoor range, I'll usually pack 3 or 4 rifles, depending on who's joining me and what they want to try.

I also really liked the juxtaposition of the "old school" and new in your range pack.

I typically shoot by myself and only take a couple or three guns as toting too much gear quickly diminishes the fun. I like to be able to tote my stuff to the car or range in one trip without resembling a pack mule.

Yep. Left a few home that day. Had a few on the hip too :).

Glad to see you taking out a number of firearms to enjoy. This Sunday I'm taking out 5 people who have NEVER shot anything, ever! I'll take more than a dozen guns I'm sure.

A few 22LRs -- both rifle and handgun, 9mm/.38S/45ACP/44M handguns, an AR and AK, a couple of shotguns and maybe an M1 Garand and a 1885 Winchester in 45-70...

Nice. I used to bring a lot of guns to the range at a time, now I find that I have more fun with just two or three.

It's fun to sync up with your buddies too and bring stuff in common. Like a .22LR day or black powder day or revolver day or shotgun day or whatever.

Looks like fun & I remember them days! Shooting a bunch of guns then you spend Saturday night or most of Sunday cleaning ... I don't do that anymore.

Now days I'll take maybe 2-3 centerfire rifles, a couple pistols and a few rimfires' ... Depending on how busy the ranges are determines what I shoot and it's usually only one type ... I hate it when I go to the range with only a couple guns and that range is busy, or worse ... has an event running (I have a bad habit of not checking the schedule before I leave)

I usually take 5 or 6 to the range. Just in case I run out of one caliber ammo I can keep shooting.

The good thing about open range land is you can bring what you want and shoot it wherever. No "events" out there in the desert and "they" dont throw a hissy fit if you holster guns and walk up to the target.

We generally take 3 guns to the range.

My wife takes her LC9

I take one of my M&Ps

And I take 1 M&P that stays loaded and doesn't get shot.

My 100 &200 yrd range is about 50 yards out my back door so, usually 2 to four guns at a time , with ammo all I can haul in one trip . Farm for200 to 800 same 2 to 4 at a time
