'Smith asked me ta ask you guys, opion on a totally u.s. made Remington, ally steel and stainless, and MADE RIGHT. He prototyped one milling from already hardened & stress relieved steel.

Differences, grip frame area more COLT type and roomier fer anybody witha normal hand, otherwise, alla same except QUALITY! Its align bored&reamed sos line up is RIGHT on.

He's thinkin retail about $400.00, but before he commits he wants feedback. Also says; 'Tankah Zair' fer tha help!!

Forgot ta add! Important point ifin ya dont like um departing from original design, tha innards are coil spring and very much RUGER like, NOT gonna break!

I've always liked the Remingtons but my hands are big and I don't find the comfortable.

Barrel length?

Any chance he'd be willing to make a few with a cutout on the gripframe for a '61 stock?

I know, I know, I'm picky...

Rear sight... hammer, barrel, or frame mounted?

Third Rail! It's a REMMIE! Rear sights in tha FRAME. Barrel lengths yet undetermined, he went 8.0" for prototype but will likely have a variety, MIGHT even do tha Dan Wesson thing and have interchangable barrels. (He mentioned this)

DOn't know about stock cuts, i suppose, never saw sense to them so i never considerd it. I'll mention it to him!

If'n there are cutouts for the stock, and it has the standard Remington frame sights, then I'm in for one at least.

Thats three then! I'll mention it, if he does tha cutouts it'll be a standard feature.

Make that 4! Not going to be 50 Cal. is it?
I will want one too. $400.00 for a US of A, semi Custom, made Remmy....He's gonna be busy. Can I come and help build them? and I'm even of German Descent too! LOL

PS Don't know a word of German, well maybe one or two words.

Old Dragoon! Ifin yer around him you'll learn more! Usually while he's givin ya heck!

And yup, he already DOES .50 cal conversions on Remmies so guess what'll be offered later? One thing though, the fiftys will be double or more in price cause the specialty steel he uses COST!!! The piece of steel for tha cylinder ALONE costs a bit over a hundred dollars!

And yup, he'll have an employee or partner or two and he's NOT likin that! (Likes bein alone)

My moneys tight right now, but if I could come up with the dough I'd buy one later in the year. Are these going to be handmade one at a time? And what kind of wait time will there be from order to delivery?

Low Key! NO!!!!! Would be insane, this will be a production item, the onlyist question bein is how many per run, he is working out details for runs of 100, 250, 500 and 1000 depending upon demand.

Tha working figure of 400.00 may be adjusted up (Likely 10%) or down (5%) again depending on production.

I didn't know but there is a tail load of cash in gettin such a thing goin. First things first, he wants tha prodcution of tha bullets going and self operating and then tha revolver.

Expect first run in say November sos ya gots LOTSA time for savin yer coin for that xmas present for yerself!

I had to ask the hard questions!

With availability being in November, put me in also and it looks like I'll be saving cash for a christmas present for me!! :D :D

Yup, its a make haste slowly issue, he wants everythin PERFECT cause tha MAN DONT allow nothin thats not right leave tha shop.

And his name on um, ya BET they're going ta be! Got more pride than any ten people i know and meticulous dont even begin to define his work.

Well I'd be interested in a regular 44 Cal, then maybe talk to him about a conversion cylinder for it later... Ah Yes a US Made Remy for Christmas. Sounds Great!

I want one, I want one!

I think everyone who is into black powder revolvers are nostalgia buffs as much as anything. Speaking for myself, I think it's important to maintain the original look of the piece on the outside, pretty much, but the inside, who cares! Make it work better by internal modifications? Great! I don't believe he'd have any trouble selling them at all.

When does the GWF (Genauigkeit Waffenfabrik, or Precision Armory) officially begin taking orders?

Steve

Old Dragoon. Conversion is why he thought of tha Wesson barrel system ta use on this, a guy could have .32 to .50 calibre on tha same frame muzzleloading OR centerfire cartridge.

REALLY helpful to our cousins in Merry Olde only one serialized frame for all those calibers.

Hey,

Put my name on the list, I want one. Having one made here in the states would be awesome.

Third Rail! Nah! 2050!!! :) Pretty much a done deal, just clearing tha decks and making space for more dedicated machines.

Another issue is outside suppliers, and testing parts, so nothing is slated for delivery until November this year.

Oh ya, and i get tha first one, serial # 00001!!! :neener:

Count me in as well! I like my Pietta Remmy so well I'm guessing the 58 Remington will always remain my favorite. Hard to know since it is the only cap & ball revolver I own. That's about to change though!:D

Calibers will eventually cover .31 through .50. For right now, .45 and .36, with .45 coming first.
