I have 3 Uberti Remington 1858s. The bolt on one of them attempts to engage the cylinder about an 1/8 of an inch too early. My other two Uberti 1858s are perfect. Should this be a concern, or normal. The revolver shoots fine.
My Uberti 1858 hits the cylinder just before the stlot...center to center you might call it about 1/8". I lightened up the bolt spring soas it fully engages but causes no damage when it hits the cylinder. You can back off the spring screw and/or bend the bolt spring some. Try backing the screw of 1/4 of the bolt trigger sping. See if that works as a place to start.
