Well ladies & gents, I done it now.

100 pcs of brand spanking new Starline brass in 41 Magnum followed me home.

(I don't have a gun in that caliber - yet)

Been watching gun brokerer there's a couple of S&W Model 58s.

The cure is rough. Called dead broke. Or is that Broke dead?

Good news on the soon to be new family member!

Interesting cartridge!

You have a great excuse to get the Smith Model 57 I've always wanted.

This would seriously tempt me, if I could find more 2400, 110 or 296.

Funny, I was just looking at a couple Model 58s this week. Bummer that
all were out of my price range for the moment or I would have gotten one.
Then would have gotten divorce! LOL

I don't know why but every time a 41 magnum thread comes up I immediately want one!

I owned a Model 57 for many years ... until some low life broke in and stole it and 13 of my other guns .... I replaced it with a Model 629 ... I like it .... but no where like I did the #57 ... still got (.41)dies, bullets and brass ... but no gun .... so I know how you feel ...

Bummer to have a break in and lose old guns. Must be like never seeing a good friend ever again. Someone stole my Browning A5 when I was young, still miss it. Old Belgium made, used, 2 3/4", not perfect bluing..

Why would I want a .41 magnum over a more standard caliber? I have never shot one.

I have a 41 blackhawk, easy recoiling with plenty of power on tap.
I shoot much more 44 mag though, mostly downloaded to similar recoil levels as standard 41 mag.

I am tempted by a 3" 657 at the local fun store though.

I've got dies and a 6 cavity bullet mold for 41 mag. But, no gun or lead furnace. My sick logic tells me to spend money to make those items useful. This is some obsession!

Being the odd ball that I am ... is why I ended up with my .41 mag.... same for the .25/06 and the CoAX press .... I guess that that was reason that having something different felt good and I loved each of those different things ....

I guess the choices I made proved to be good ones ... because the .41 Mag is popular as ever .... so is the .25/06 ... and so is the Forster Co-Ax press ...

On my medium list. Short list is a drilling, 22tcm/9mm RIA 1911, 22tcm rifle, 327fed revolver, 357 double action 4"...that 357 doesn't seem odd but in my collection it will look puny.

Ayup, that is how I started buying M1 Garands a dozen years ago ... after I bought those cases of Danish M2 Ball in enblocs & bandos, I needed something with which to shoot them. :D

I still have a couple of G/K43 magazines in my north gunsafe ... patiently waiting. ;)

Years back I ordered a S&W .41 mag. Told the LGS I want blue shinny. He left off the blue so it came in nickel and high polish. Took it home and decided it's too pretty to shoot. Found a blue one at auction and bought it to shoot. Very accurate cartridge. I shoot a lot of steel plates with it.

Hondo 60, this is indeed a terrible situation. I however have a solution for this impulse buying and thusly you will avoid buyers regret. 1st send the .41 mag brass to me, 2nd I will inspect it and load it, and then of course shoot it in my .41 mag snubby (so MUCH FUN):) and then if and when you buy a .41 I will return the brass to you so you can reload it for your .41... Yes I know it sooooo gracious of me, but its just the way I am. Caring and sharing, it is what I am all about. Hey I will even pay the postage to have you send me that evil .41 mag brass looking for a temp home. Hondo 60 I am here for you. Be safe, "keep your powder dry and shoot low as they may be riding shetlands" just something my PD range office always said.

Hondo's evil. I went out looking for a Model 57. No luck at 3 stores. None in the distributor's inventory to pre-order.

But I did find another pristine Model 19 (looked like it was never fired.) And then I got a BVSS in .22-250 as well... :cuss:

Hmmmmmm....My Wife now knows THAT trick..!!!:uhoh:

I "gotta" come up with a new angle...:D

TxD

Ps....That $BROKE$ thing also keeps me from doing that too often.
Dang, I need a second job or find a gold mine.
This reloading/gun thing is expensive...But I love it!!
