UK seeks to ban rubber mallets

this just goes to show that no matter how many items are banned due to their use as weapons criminals will still find something to use!

Three men, one armed with a rubber mallet,

:what:

We have to get these illegal rubber mallets off the street! No one except for auto body shops has any business owning rubber mallets. Don't you know that you're seven times as likely to get beaten by a rubber mallet just by having one in your house? All rubber mallets should be registered. 600,000 neurosurgeons agree rubber mallets are bad for the skull. Background checks should be mandated for buying rubber mallets at garage sales. We need a total ban on assault rubber mallets (those with black handles, handles that are too short, too long, with more than 20 lines per inch crosshatch patterns, or have ergonomic grips). Rubber mallets must be stored with their handles and heads in separate and locked locations. Mallets should bear unique serial numbers engraved in their striking faces so that they leave impressions upon what they hit. No one has any need to buy more than one rubber mallet a month. Schools should be rubber mallet-free zones. Zero tolerance! No drawings, pictures, mentions, or thoughts of rubber mallets in schools. It's for the children!

And as DC Atty General Linda Singer might have said:

"It's a pretty common-sense idea that the more rubber mallets there are around, the more beatings you'll have,"

...And don't get me started on dead-blow hammers!!!

woodybrighton was jes' extrapolatin' an' hyperbolatin'.

Not unlike our hand-wringing legislators and others.

Amusing.
