I stumbled on this here in my local city page on backpage.com. I am not the one selling it, but I thought since it is so rare I would make note of it to fellow THR gunnuts who might have the cash and/or desire. The way I understand it, there only about 400-500 or so that made into the country.

I would call less than 500 rare. I don't know the going price, I just know I can't afford one and they don't show up that often.

Sure they are rare, but it's not $8500 rare.
That's pretty steep. I'd love to have one but that's just too much.

I've bid on a couple over the years and never seen one that high.

We'll see. Like I say it may sell anyway, never know. AUGs are up around $4000 now, so the market is moving up for sure.

The SIG 550/551 rifles have been consistently going for ~8-10k on gunbroker, every time I've ever seen them.
