You can buy 200 rds of 165gr FMJ .40 S&W at Wallmart [ducks and rolls] for $29 plus tax where I live.
I've used Ultramax in the days before I loaded my own. I bought their cowboy action load in .45 Colt. Nice, low recoil cartridge that burned clean but at $18 a box it was my reason for switching to handloading (costs me about $5/box).
So yeah - I'd say based on my experience with the Ultramax brand I'd say that $29.95 for 225 would be a good deal.

- - -At my agency. We issued Speer Gold Dot for duty ammo and Ultramax service-equivalent ammo for handgun practice and qualifications for several years. No complaints about the UM.
Also used UM .223 for the issue Mini 14s, both for qualifs and duty. I was at first disdainful of the remanufactured ammo, thinking, "Well, it might be okay, for no more accuracy than the typical Mini 14 can give." Fooled me!
I found that, when I took the time to match up the headstamps, the 55 gr SP UM would consistently group under an inch in a scoped AR15, and also in my MK X mini-Mauser bolt gun! I CAN handload more accurate ammo, but it's a lot of trouble, and the improvement is not that great.
Even with mixed headstamps, this ammo is well under two inches. If you can be satisfied with the 55 gr SP ammo, this is a great buy. I'm paying about $15 per box of 50 rounds locally.

I've had good experience with Ultramax 44 mag (cowboy) and 223 FMJ. I also shot a LOT of ultramax 380 jhp.. no failures to feed, no misfires but the round nose hollw point "hole" was sharp.. thought it might bind up on the feed ramp. It never did. Ultramax seems to be spending more money on packaging/marketing than they did in years apst.. it certainly LOOKS like a better product.

Only experiance with UltraMax is their .223 Rem 55 gr hollow points and they were very accurate but didn't feed in my brothers Bushmaster carbine.
