I browse through the GSA auctions pretty frequently and saw this today. UltraSonic Cleaner, ends on the 10th and no one bid on it yet so it may go pretty cheap

If it was a little closer to Ohio,(under 100 mi) I'd go for it, it's in Fresno CA so I'm not interested. GSA generally gives very little details but when I call about an item they try to help. If anyone is interested in the Fresno CA area you might want to check it out. They're great brass cleaners.

I use ultrasonic cleaners at work. We use them to clean wire drawing dies. these things are awesome. the die is first cleaned with solvent, then blown out and put in the ultrasonic. When you put the die in the water you can see all the diamond powder flowing out of the die. They do an excellent job and i would suspect they would do the same for rifle cases.

Yeah.. People use them to clean gun parts, bolts, etc etc and does good from what I understand. I am tempted to pick one up for myself.. Carbon buildup is a pain...!

They only work well on pretty clean cases that just have carbon buldup if they are nasty they need a little more help. I use one to clean my cases.

Sharpertek Ultrasonic cleaners on sale

I found www.sterlingtime.com has these units on deep discount. What a steal! Why buy from an auction some machine that may be broken. They have handgun and rifle cleaners as well.

This may only be gun show gossip (third hand info) but I use to talk to a son/inheritor of the makers of MP 7 when they were trying to break into the gun cleaning market and he said it was originally formulated to use in ultrasonic cleaners and dip tanks for the aviation industry. You might want to contact M Pro 7 directly for more in depth info than a dealer has and they may have a different formulation that would work better.

Harbor Freight has one for around $40-50 that works well. With the right recipes, brass comes out looking like new inside and out. No more scrubbing primer pockets.

I have one and they work quite well, though you do need to know a few things. First, no aluminum in the ultasonic, it will eat it up. Second, they clean so well, that you have to make sure to lubricate any gun part you clean in them or you will have rust. One trick is to run guns parts through the cleaner, wash the cleaner off and dry with a blow dryer. Then put the parts back in the cleaner with a lubricant in the tub. I used Slip 2000, it is not flamable. The only bad part is wiping all the lube off afterwards. You will have a clean gun when you are done.
