Does anyone clean their handgun brass in an ultrasonic cleaner with the spent primer still in the pocket, and if so how clean does the cleaner get the primer pocket? I know alot of folks don't worry about PP cleanliness and if that's your thing, so be it. I like my PPs clean. Recently started using a progressive press and depriming and hand cleaning sort of defeats a progressive's speed.

If you are a bench rest shooter or just picky, then by all means clean the primer pcket.I prefer to spend more time shooting than reloading, but thats me.I just try to make sure my loads are consistent.

What a lot of the reloaders I know that have progressives do is use a universal deprimimg die then clean brass however you do it. Then load cleaned brass in the press as you would regular OF brass that had primers still in and resize as normal.

I deprime with a Lee universal depriming die before I put the brass in my ultrasonic cleaner. The pockets come out looking like new. I can't imagine that the pocket would clean up very well with the spent primer in place. Just my opinion.:)
