Hi guys, I am a new member, and I need some help...I live in Las Vegas NV and I have tried without success to purchase a Taurus model941 22 mag with a 4 inch barrel. Every gun shop I have gone to have told me they don't have one or cannot get one. I even called Taurus, they said they have them. I asked how come none of the gun shops that I have gone to will not get one. They could not give me an answer. I am now tempted to look into buying another model/caliber revolver.
thanks David

4 inch 941 just below the SRH. Drilled/tapped top strap for Weaver base. It has a heads-up red dot on it. Great little gun. Sweet DA trigger, SA pretty rough. Very accurate. Of course, 22mag shoots pretty dirty out of a handgun, so frequent cleaning is needed. You'll be happy if you find one.

Thanks GBRAN, nice collection you have there. I guess I will give it one more try. If any other member has any ideas, please feel free to let me know...Thanks David

Have your dealers contact Lew Horton. They have a blued 4" listed in their inventory.

My dealer tried to find me a S&W TR22, but didn't think to check Lew Horton until I checked their inventory myself. Sure enough, they had one and now I have one.

Lipsey's also has the 941 series listed: 4" 941

Thanks ewayte, I finally found one today @ Spurlocks gun Shop in Henderson, NV.Great Gun Shop, good prices, very friendly staff.........

Nice that you finally found one....i'm on week #7 of being on backorder for a Taurus Tracker in .22

I also called Taurus to ask if there was a shortage or something but they told me the same thing they told you

Thank, LUCKY STRIKE..I hope you get your Tracker. I have one with a 6inch barrel. You are going to like it, it is a heavy gun, but fun to plink with and very accurate....David

Glad to be of assistance. Let us know how it shoots! :)

My wife likes to shoot the CCI Maxi-Mag +V in her S&W 351PD .22WMR.

May be a stupid question, but after reading an old THR thread where people were arguing over what's a better gun (.22LR vs. .22mag) I'll have to ask it...

If I got a .22mag revolver, I can shoot .22LR through it, correct? (like a .38/.357 and .44mag and .44spl)

Thanks :)

Short answer is no.

The .22 LR and the .22 mag have about the same bullet diameter, but the .22 LR has a heeled bullet. That is to say, the rear portion of the bullet is reduced in diameter to fit inside the case, while the front portion is the same diameter as the outside of the case. The .22 mag has a conventional bullet, so the outside case diameter is larger. .22 LR cases will swell and split in .22 mag chambers. Not safe.

Many rimfire revolvers like the Ruger Single-Six come with interchangeable cylinders that let you switch between LR and mag, but you have to use the cylinder chambered for what you are shooting.

Ok thanks very much for the info. I had wondered why Ruger included two different cylinders...it was for a reason :D
