Unbelievable VPC hypocrisy--Help ensure VPC's shambolic FFL renewal is DENIED

You guys are trying to have it both ways. You argue that his FFL is invalid because he doesn't sell guns and that his tax-exempt status is invalid because of the profit he makes selling guns. The first is clearly true; the second is clearly not.

He can't have it both ways either.

The point is we don't know what he does with the guns he buys because no on has even checked in six years. If he is selling them than that is unreported income. If he is not selling them than he should not have the lic at all.

Either way, it is a lobbying organization and should not be tax exempt. Unless you think the NRA should be tax exempt.

it really is that simple.

NRA is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization . NRA-ILA i believe is not because it DOES lobby etc .

I got another vague reply from a Senator. I suppose an email dealing the VPC having a ffl doesn't fit into a form letter already on file.

having an FFL is little different than having a sales tax permit and town business license- it's only a license to buy and sell guns.

NO, NO, NO! The ATF only issues FFLs to people who are actively engaged in the business of firearms. A business has the goal of producing profit, otherwise the IRS will declare them a hobby. If he has an FFL he is in business and thus must be working towards being profitable. The application for an FFL is very specific about this, one MUST be engaged in the business. Even if he was trying to get samples that would fall under the collecting and is reason not to be issued a normal FFL. The only people that cancollect with an FFL are C&Rs.

Well, it's not like issues of federal law have anywhere near the import in Congress of something like, say, steroid abuse in major league baseball.
