Undeniable Borescope diagnosis

Well, with the Teslong scope, not using a shaft and only a cable, you could also do your own colonoscopy checks. My Lyman with its shaft might be an issue concerning that attempt. :uhoh:

I still gotta wonder, though, why some folks who find that they have a sorta rough bore, or a bore not to their liking, will go through the efforts of "fire-lapping" said bore. If shooting doesn't improve, sounds like a wasted effort.
I thought fire lapping was a last ditch. Either helps or the barrel becomes a tomato stake.
I can't see doing it if the rifle shoots well.

I’m not a fire-lapper. BTDT, and don’t like what it does. I’m happy to hand lap, even more happy to buy hand lapped barrels, but I’ll never firelap anything ever again.

Fire lapping is like weeding your garden with a flame thrower instead of a trowel.

I haven't, and will never, fire lap any rifled bore. Although I've only "scoped" a few barrels where the owner did shoot progressively finer grit impregnated bullets through their rifles bore, it was easy to see how the leade was moved forward almost a ¼ of an inch. Instead of gaining better accuracy, they lost what they had due to the lead bullet needing to jump a bit further forward.
At least with "hand lapping" you can most often feel the tight spots, if they exist, and give those some extra attention.
