Universal M-1 Carbine Gen 2

Hello all,
I am trying to locate parts for the Gen 2 bolt "hold open" assembly. I can't find anything showing the parts needed. I have a Gen 2 that is missing the parts, any help or direction would certainly be appreciated. I have gone the normal route Numrich, Brownells, etc. I can't even find a schematic showing the hold open feature of the Gen 2 Universal Carbine. I believe it has a type of toggle switch for a hold back, I'm afraid you're going to have a hard time finding one of those for that particular weapon. Most have a type of push button hold back. You might check Dick Williams Gun Shop, Inc. out of Saginaw Michigan at 989-777-1240. I've ordered quite a few hard to find parts through that business.

Last I saw, Gunparts bought all remaining Universal parts. You need to get an approximate date of manufacture. The toggle appeared around the early to mid 1970's.

A quick caution about Numrich and carbine parts... I bought a set of springs from them and found them to be sub-standard (not happy at all...). I finally learned the hard way to buy nothing but USGI surplus springs... Can't comment on their other carbine parts. Good luck finding what you need...

Back in the day there were carbine magazines that were made to stop the carbine bolt travel, They had a stop on the follower. I don't think they were well accepted in the market place.
