I got some hard cast 180 gr bullets in .358" from Missouri Bullet Co and I'm trying to figure out what powder combo will work best in my Blackhawk. It's not easy to find published load data for the 180 cast bullets. But so far, I have some starting points to try for my powders I have on hand. I have loaded up 10 rounds each using 2400, w296, AA#9, IMR 4227, and Lil Gun. But it occurs to me that I should at least give the Universal a try as well since it does so well with my 158 gr loads. So far, I can't find a starting point for that one though. I guess it's probably on the fast burning side for that weight bullet. My gut feel is that 5.0 gr would probably be OK, but I hate to do things that way.

Anybody have a published load or personal experience?

Not sure about Universal, but if you haven't tried Trail Boss you're really missing something fun. With the 180 cast in .357 it's very pleasant to shoot and dead accurate out of my Sixes. It's my very favorite .357 load to date.
