Unknown cartridge

    Could someone help me ID this cartridge?
    I got a handful of these with an old '03 Springfield
    I got from a family friend. I haven't been able
    to identify it.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Looks like maybe a 30-03, the original round chambered in the 1903 Springfield, and superceded by the 30-06 when the spitzer type bullet was used.

    I'm going to go with the 6.5x53, or anything similar.

    It looks kind of like a 30-40 Krag. Whats the bullet diameter?

    The 30-03 was a rimless case just about identical to the 30-06 except with a 1/10" longer neck.

    And Fabrique Nationale (FN) never made any of them.

    6.5x53r? I thought it was mannlicher, or are they the same?

    6.5 mannlicher schoenauer or possibly a carcano?

    Definitely, 1000%, 6.5x54R Dutch Mannlicher (sometimes listed as a 6.5x53R or 53.5R).
