Where the Corps takes me
So in my quest to find a guide rod for my Jericho 941, I called Charles Daly's parts/service dept. I told the gentleman that I was needing a replacement guide rod. "Well, send it in and we'll work on it," he tells me.
"Um, no can do. I carry it. When are you going to get the rods in?"
"Can't tell you for sure."
"Yet you want me to send my carry piece in? For an unknown time?"
For a moment, silence. "Well I'm sure we'll get the guide rods in the next few months."
I hung up the phone, completely baffled. One, that sending my gun in for an undisclosed amount of time. Two, where the heck am I going to get a guide rod?

Now, this isn't a bash on Daly, just sharing my experience w/ the company.

Regards,
Lucky

I am not particularly thrilled with the way our CS Department handled this.

First you should have been told that the part was not in stock. Failing that, at the least you should have been told that we would have to order the part for you if we didn't have it and how long it would take to get it. We should have offered to call you back with that information.

I will address this with CS and trust someone with a similar situation as this will have a much better outcome in the future.

My apologies.

Somehow this outcome does not come as a surprise - and how many gun company Presidents will respond by the 9th post? ;)

Charles Daly doesn't make/import anything I am interested in, but when the company president posts in a forum such as this, it sure gets my attention in a positive way.

I wish the management of the brands I like would at least pretend to be interested in their customers.

Fluff: Right on. That is, indeed, bitchin.

Yeah, trying to find another guide rod but not wanting to shell out cash for rods/systems that don't work. Harsh times..... lol

The rapid response from the company President on several threads over the past 6 months have convinced me that I will look seriously at Charles Daly products for my next new handgun purchase.

Lucky 7, maybe you can use a witness guide rod with a standard witness spring. Try and get someone either here or on the cz forum to measure the length and diameter of a fullsize witness guid rod to see if might work for you. On a side note I have a charles daly dda which is a fullsize 45 cz clone. It uses a full length guide rod and and a non captured spring which you can get at wolf gunsprings(witness spring). The rod is about .273" in diameter and is 3.811" long including the bump on end of the rod where it fits up against the barrel. If that would work maybe daly has one of those in stock.

For the record, I just took a look at the Charles Daly website. It was my first look at that sight and probably my first exposure to any of their recent marketing. My sole reason for taking the time to do this is Mr. Kassnar's response to his customer.

Meef ?

Meef .
Meef ?

Arhgg people, there's no such word as Meef .

Sounds like the President cares about his customers and the Sport , reminds me allot of Val . I like that ALOT .

The Jericho or Baby Eagle is made from Tanfoglio parts if nothing has changed since I learned that. Anyway I have a couple Tan's and I would measure if you still need. It should be the same, as the slide is the only different looking part on the pistol.

Old Fuff....... :D

It was a nickname hung on me by a pair of teens...

Teens, as some of you know are liable to hang such names on grown-up's, but only ones they like. Others they simply ignore, or assign names I can’t repeat on a family-friendly forum. Sometimes it was shortened to simply “Fuff,” as in, “Fuff, will you….”

More often then not, the object of a request had something to do with homework, and a need for help thereon. ;)

I just checked out their site also. Having the pres respond is great. Nice to see.
