Unorthodox

I've tried two guns at once. Couldn't hit a damn thing even at 10 yards. I've also tried point-shooting, which I'm pretty good at now.

Time for me to confess

I started this thread & never said what I'd done...
I did try shooting "gangsta style" thinking that since I hold my hand that way when I'm pointing at something, it just might work when shooting. It didn't.
I also tried wearing leg holsters on each thigh like Lara Croft & swaggered around the house a while.
I scrubbed the cylinder of my S&W stainless revolver in the kitchen sink using Dawn dishwashing soap & a green "light duty" scrubbing pad. This was after repeated cleaning attempts using all of my gun products failed to work to my satisfaction. I dried it thoroughly, oiled it, and now it looks new. Works fine, too.
I do want to try shooting with a gun in each hand.

1) Yes, I have tried gangsta style. Hits were OK, I just kept getting hit with brass. I tried two guns and the results were better than expected, although still pretty bad.

2) I rarely clean them. My dishwasher is an 11yo girl that can't always rack the slide on my 1911s, so I dont make her clean them.

3) Never tried Bra Carry, and since I dont wear bras I doubt I ever will. Ankle carry doesnt work for me, neither does mexican style with the magwell pointing to my right.

4) Teacup & saucer? Never tried this.

I don't have a dishwasher, but I do have a pickup truck and go to the carwash once a week. I load up the dishes, guns, dirty clothes, dogs, etc. and kill several birds with one stone. :neener:

:)
Yep, at ITR we used to take our M1's into the shower to get the mud and crud off! This method works very well and speeds up the cleaning process! This was 1965 when the M14 was the issue weapon for most in the Corps but at ITR they issued old (very old) M1 Garands to us due to a shortage of M-14's. The M16 was so new it was not available to USMC personnel except in RVN!

Shower guns

When cleaning your rifles in the shower, was it a quick rinse to loosen the dirt or a thorough soaking? Is blow-drying the best way to dry them afterwards?

If I remember correctly (dating myself here...), we gave them a thorough cleaning, and then we showered ourselves.
Then it was back to the squad bay to give them a standard cleaning after drying them with rags.
Worked pretty good.

it would probably be easier to shoot if the sights were on the side of the slide then you could have right and left handed glocks
Birdman has some. Be interesting if they were actually real though.

Ladysmith, it all depends on the conditioner you use with the rinse...
:D

Just thinking of how it could be used as a valid excuse to get out of an unwanted date. Instead of the old, "I have to wash my hair" it could be, "I have to bathe my M1." ;)
Speaking of cleaning, I forgot to mention that I did go to a few gun cleaning parties. It started after a few women-only NRA classes. We were instructed on shooting, but no one showed us how to properly clean & care for our guns. A lot of the women had inherited handguns without manuals. So we all agreed among ourselves to find out what we could. The following week we all got together with our collected info & products and had our first gun cleaning party. I'm not sure how unorthodox that is, but it's fun.
