A friend of mine has been dying to go to the indoor range for over a week, and since I have several new purchases I haven't shot yet, we went today. I only took one gun, a .22 target rifle setup I have been putting together for the last few weeks. The range was packed and most everyone was shooting 9mm, .40, .45, so it was peaceful and quiet...perfect for relaxing and adjusting a scope. Well, after getting it sighted in, I was enjoying shooting the centers out of Shoot-N-C stickers and was writing my name on a piece of paper at the far end of the range.
Now, I'm sure everyone has noticed the slight concussion you feel when someone in the next lane pulls out a .45 or magnum of some sort...you just feel it mildly when they fire a shot, no big deal. Well, today someone four ((4)) lanes away from me fired their new S&W 500 with a 4" barrel. Well, my own heartbeat was moving my crosshairs enough to change point of impact a quarter inch, but this thing was unreal!!! I had at least 3 shots where the impact of his shots hit me just as my trigger broke...point of impact off by like 2 inches.
Holy ****!!! You wouldn't even have to shoot an attacker with one of those things...you would only need to shoot in his general direction and I swear, he will be checking himself for holes!!! I couldn't imagine the concussion if one of those cannons was fired in my direction. I enjoy shooting off a few rounds of .41 magnum every once in a while when the range is quiet just to see everyone peek around the dividers...but this thing is absolutely unreal. I watched the guy shoot, and my 12 guage with a pistol grip doesn't kick as high as this thing...it would scare a 12 guage to death! Gonna have to get one of those in case I want to go dinosaur hunting.
