Just picked up for $175 an unusual Berretta .22. It is SIMILAR to an old Jaguar model I had, it lacks the later 70 series adj sights , and it has flat Pre GCA 68 grips. I t came in its original blue plastic with clear top box and a 3.5" & 6" barrel that changes thru the front open frame (slit for sight to pass) . Seems usefully accurate and weighs 19oz with the 6" barrel! Do I hear "trail gun"? Any one know what model this is called?:D

It might be a model 70S which normally came with a short barrel and had the "botton in the bottom of the grip" magazine release. See if it has any importer marks (names, whatever) on it.

Also could be models 71, 72 and 73 - the numbers represent different barrel lengths. Importation started in 1956. An older Gun Digest might help you I.D. it.
