I finally sold my cap-lock muzzle loading pistol on Armslist but watch out for a scamming lady from Texas who said she was buying the gun and sent a Cashiers check for $1998 in a Priority Mail envelope. She just asked since it was a mistake that I cash the check, take an extra $75 out for my trouble and send back the change so she would have her child support money for the month. Needless to say I just emailed her back telling her its all been turned over to the FBI.

Oh the gun was sold to a young man out West, never got a hit here. He got it for $100 less than I paid.

BTW I have my Flintlock pistol back up for sale with new, better pictures over in the Buy / Sell section. Seems to be a real lack of interest on here for BP guns? Even when they are discounted in price?

Considering that only 2% of the discussions on this site are BP-specific, it is no surprise there is limited interest. Plus the timing right now is not the best - many folks are spending their discretionary income on gifts for others rather than buying toys.

Yes this is a bad time of the year to sell. After christmas is also a bad time to sell when peoples credit card bills come in for the christmas shopping they did the month before and they are in sticker shock. But its a great time to buy because now they need cash fast.

Not really all that true a lot of folks get bonuses at Christmas time and some of us purchase our own toys for Christmas. Seems to be a lot of interest in black powder / muzzle loading as MidwayUSA sells a bunch and you see those prices! I think a lot of people without cash are looking to put on their credit cards (hence Paypal credit on eBay) and the others are just looking for give away prices.

I like to buy and sell, not selling because I need the cash for a house or car payment. I use the proceeds to purchase new toys and to keep the gun inventory at a reasonable level. So when some one sends me a "low ball" offer, never on here BTW I just smile and Delete.

My only interest in BP is once a year just prior to ML deer season - I use a scoped TC .50 Encore that is very accurate - very capable rifle BUT, certainly not era appropriate.
I would love to purchase a custom cap lock Hawkin in .50 or .54 but nothing in my taste is ever available or a build wait list of a zillion years. With a nice custom, my BP interest wound increase significantly.

If your in Missouri and have Armslist website up you might look at this in Iowa and he says OBO. You can purchase new Hawkins everyday at MidwayUSA which is in your State. What would you want in a Custom muzzleloader. I do not consider a Inline when I think of BP or Muzzleloading, sorry.
