OK folks, long story short, I am coming into a Rock River Arms A3 midlength, 16" barrel with a fixed comp, A2 stock, fixed front sight, detachable carry handle and about 50 rounds through it. Here's my dilemma: I am a gas-piston guy. My Walter Mitty battery is all piston operated: Garand, SIG556 and the AK that's on order. I like piston operation. So this is what I'm thinking about doing. I could upgrade the RRA with an Adams Arms piston conversion kit ($500) and Samson Rail ($290) , or I could sell it, and buy a POF P415 SPR. Assuming I sold the RRA for a bare minimum of $1200, and ponied up the $800 i would have spent on upgrading it, I could buy the P415, or an M1A, or 2 more AKs.
